Girafot
The album Gag (Hebrew: “roof”) explores emotional fluctuations. the contrast between ease and hardship, softness and intensity, clarity and distortion. Its songs examine the aftermath of a breakup, the weight of loss, and the slow, imperfect process of rebuilding. The visual identity, created in partnership with Noa Dvoskin, extends across vinyl and cassette formats, aiming to reflect these lyrical concepts through a new interpretative visual lens. The work was created in direct collaboration with the Girafot band. The visual inspiration was collage, reflecting the album’s emotional process of reassembly. Rugged textures, mismatched paper-like layers, and shifting colors over a black-and-white base create a sense of contrast, mirroring the changing moods of the music, while the noisy elements amplify the raw, imperfect aesthetic. The chosen imagery and symbolism are offering a fresh visual interpretation that deepens the album’s original narrative.
